UK Parliament elections are currently scheduled to take place on Thursday 12th December.  Aberystwyth is part of the Constituency of Ceredigion.

The deadline to register to vote in this election is midnight on Tuesday 26th November.

The likely deadline for new postal vote applications, or changes to existing postal votes, is likely to be 5pm on Wednesday 27th November.

How do I Register to vote?

You can register to vote at gov.uk/register-to-vote; all you need is your National Insurance number.

Registering takes no more than five minutes!

Where should I register to vote?

As a student you can register to vote at both your home and term-time address, but you can only vote once in a General or Welsh Assembly election.

If your home and university addresses are in two different local authority areas, you can vote in local elections in both.

Why should I register to vote?

In the 2017 General Election there were just 104 votes between the leading two candidates in the Ceredigion constituency.

With almost 7,000 students at Aberystwyth University, students have a huge opportunity to shape policies at a local and national level.

So register to vote today and ensure students remain at the top of the agenda of the politicians we elect.
