As part of one of my priorities this year to increase engagement with Tîm Aber, we revived RAG Weeks. Raising and Giving (RAG) is a fundraising initiative led predominately by sports clubs, societies and volunteering groups. It runs around AberSU’s promises to?support you to be happy and healthy?and?be a positive influence.
Throughout the year, we dedicated six weeks to fundraising and volunteering and each student group was allocated a slot. Whether you raised under £5 or over £2000, you have still made a valuable contribution to our incredible total of £14,704.34! Llongyfarchiadau!
The fundraising activities this year varied from venue takeovers to pub quizzes, car washes and beyond. Also, but not limited to; Men’s Rugby “cycled” from Cardiff to Edinburgh in aid of My Name’s Doddie, Dance Sport did Strictly for MIND, Curtain Call launched a mega-group Fun Fair, Harriers and UOTC teamed up to complete a 48 Hour Running Challenge for Air Ambulance Wales, and Aber Crafts sold handmade items.
