Underpinned by positive psychology, this practical workshop takes a deep dive into how personal values may be used to support wellbeing.
By being clear about what matters, values provide meaningful direction at a level that is personally significant. Behaving in a way that reflects them is also energetically positive and motivating, deepening our understanding of what is meaningful to us. Research supports this outcome in that by defining our values, we become able to identify the supporting behaviours that uphold them and act on them. Following this, we are then able to use our values to set meaningful short, medium and long-term goals and bring them to life. Realising them in this practical way further supports both psychological wellbeing and practical action.
By exploring personal values in this session and setting some goal-based actions, attendees will benefit from an increase in clarity around what is important to them and a practical way to demonstrate their values in order to support their wellbeing at university and beyond.
