Bus Service to Serve Fferm Penglais Following Successful Student's Union Campaign
Following sustained campaigning by Undeb Aberystwyth to support improved public transport access for students at Fferm Penglais accommodation at Aberystwyth University, from September, Mid Wales Travel will begin a trial of the 301 service, which will stop at the Fferm Penglais campus four times a day, providing a direct link between the accommodation site and Morrisons.
Tanaka Chikomo, SU Wellbeing Officer, said:
“This is a real victory for students and a meaningful step toward improving accessibility, providing an important and affordable option for Fferm students to get to town directly.”
The trial will run from the start of the new academic year, with usage helping determine whether the service becomes permanent.
