Aber Amnesty is an offshoot, affiliate of Amnesty International UK. Alongside Amnesty International UK, we engage in regular campaigning events, such as petition writing, and other campaigns to raise awareness about human rights violations locally, and across the world, whether it is via direct actions, music events or fundraising. Our aim is to bring together like-minded people with a true dedication to the protection of human rights.
Are you interested in politics, development, and global issues such as poverty and hunger?
Would you like to learn more about how human rights are being violated locally and worldwide?
OR do you want to be part of something bigger and contribute to a change through campaigning?
Then come along, and join our discussions, campaigns and other events! Help us to raise awareness about issues that really matter!
As a society, we also organise a variety of socials, such as bonfires, picnics and coffees every Tuesday! Follow our social media to find out where and what time you can join us next Tuesday! Come and get involved!
Last Year Events:
Due to the governmental restrictions in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, we haven't had a chance to do much campaigning in person, however, we have still found a way to contribute to some of the Amnesty International UK Campaigns. For example, as a part of #StopKillerRobots Campaign aimed at banning fully autonomous weapons, we organised a creative online campaign of posts raising awareness about this issue and through a creative origami campaign via MS TEAMS. We also cooperated with the Law Society on organising an event about modern slavery in the UK and fair trade.
