Our club will be an organisation focused on the sports of Weightlifting, Powerlifting, and CrossFit, focusing on coaching effective technique and safe lifting, along with casual lifting for fitness.

Welcome to the Aberystwyth Weightlifting and Powerlifting Club, abbreviated to AberLift!

The goal of our club is to introduce people to the sports of Weightlifting, CrossFit, and Powerlifting, along with general weight training. We also hope to gain private access to the free weight room of the Uni Sports Centre, meaning people will be able to lift without feeling strangers are staring at them, along with having people they know around them to provide feedback and spotting for safe lifting. Numerous members of the committee have multiple years experience with competitive and casual lifting, so we hope to provide coaching to get people lifting safely and effectively.

If you're looking to increase your strength, so you can finally rip your neighbours door off its hinges and tell them to quiet down, This is the club for you!

We will be coaching general strength training, focusing on compound lifts (which train multiple muscle groups) such as Bench Press, Overhead Press, the Deadlift, and the Squat. We will also be (for those interested in progressing) coaching the competitive forms of these lifts, under IPF (International Powerlifting Federation) rules, and providing guidance on attending powerlifting competitions.

Alongside training in the sports centre, we will be running Weekly socials, both Drinking and Dry, to bring our members together outside of the gym, regardless of whether they drink or not!

Nod ein clwb yw cyflwyno pobl i chwaraeon Codi Pwysau, CrossFit, a Chodi Pwer, ynghyd â hyfforddiant pwysau cyffredinol. Rydym hefyd yn gobeithio cael mynediad preifat i ystafell bwysau am ddim Canolfan Chwaraeon y Brifysgol, sy'n golygu y bydd pobl yn gallu codi heb deimlo bod dieithriaid yn syllu arnyn nhw, ynghyd â chael pobl maen nhw'n eu hadnabod o'u cwmpas i roi adborth a sylwi ar gyfer codi'n ddiogel. Mae gan nifer o aelodau’r pwyllgor sawl blwyddyn o brofiad gyda chodi cystadleuol ac achlysurol, felly rydym yn gobeithio darparu hyfforddiant i gael pobl i godi’n ddiogel ac yn effeithiol.

Os ydych chi'n edrych i gynyddu eich cryfder, fel y gallwch chi rwygo drws eich cymdogion oddi ar ei golfachau o'r diwedd a dweud wrthyn nhw am dawelu, Dyma'r clwb i chi!

Byddwn yn hyfforddi hyfforddiant cryfder cyffredinol, gan ganolbwyntio ar lifftiau cyfansawdd (sy'n hyfforddi grwpiau cyhyrau lluosog) fel Bench Press, Overhead Press, y Deadlift, a'r Squat. Byddwn hefyd (i'r rhai sydd â diddordeb mewn symud ymlaen) yn hyfforddi ffurfiau cystadleuol y lifftiau hyn, o dan reolau IPF (Ffederasiwn Codi Pwer Rhyngwladol), ac yn darparu arweiniad ar fynychu cystadlaethau codi pwer.

Ochr yn ochr â hyfforddiant yn y ganolfan chwaraeon, byddwn yn cynnal cymdeithasau wythnosol, Yfed a Sych, i ddod â'n haelodau ynghyd y tu allan i'r gampfa, ni waeth a ydyn nhw'n yfed ai peidio!
