University Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy
We’re very aware that mental health and wellbeing is something that affects everyone, and therefore we’re pleased to share the University’s new Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy
Developed over the past 12 months with feedback from students and staff as well as best practice from universities across the UK, we hope it will be a first step in an ongoing conversation about mental health and wellbeing, in which we continue to positively influence the University’s work.
Our own Students’ Union strategy aims for students to be happy and healthy, and this year we’ve already worked to ensure mental health and wellbeing are at the centre of our work, including:
- Supporting the launch of Student Space, designed to helps students find the support they need during the coronavirus pandemic.
- Taking part in Student Minds SUs a programme designed to support Students’ Unions become leaders in mental health.
- Changing Raising and Giving (RAG) so monies raised now go towards activities and projects to support student wellbeing.
- Making up wellbeing packs for international arrivals and self-isolating students.
But we’re aware there is still much more to be done, and therefore welcome feedback on the new strategy and ideas on how we support student mental health and wellbeing. If you have feedback, please email suwellbeing@aber.ac.uk.
