My name is Tomos Ifan, Welsh Affairs Officer and UMCA President 2019/20.
I’m originally from Cardiff, but I now share my time between North, South and mid Wales.
I studied Animal Sciences here at Aberystwyth for three years, and enjoyed every minute of it!
I decided to run for the role as UMCA had given me three years of enjoyment, and I’m keen to ensure that UMCA goes from strength to strength.
What would be your top 3 tips for any new students starting at Aberystwyth in September?
My 3 top tips would be to join various clubs and societies, take advantage of every opportunity and to enjoy every second of the freedom that university life has to offer.
What are some causes you care about?
Yes Cymru, EU, Wales’ membership of the European Union

I would like to see more modules available through the medium of Welsh.
